Broncos sign rookie to replace IR-bound Winn

2 nose tackles Broncos should consider trading for

The Denver Broncos signed defensive lineman Nelson Adams on Saturday and placed defensive lineman Billy Winn on injured reserve, the team announced. He immediately grabbed his knee in pain and was carted off the field.

Like the rest of the Broncos' starting defense, Wolfe didn't get much work in Thursday night's preseason opener in Chicago.

Winn hobbled out of Soldier Field on Thursday with the aid of crutches.

A sixth-year defensive end, Winn joined the Broncos last August on a one-year deal and played all 16 games, recording 19 tackles and a fumble recovery. He was set to rotate with newcomers Domata Peko and Zach Kerr, among others, on the Broncos' rebuilt D-line.

Alliancebernstein LP Holds Position in Pure Storage, Inc. (PSTG)
BidaskClub lowered shares of Pure Storage from a "hold" rating to a "sell" rating in a research note on Tuesday, August 1st. Also, CFO Timothy Riitters sold 10,248 shares of the firm's stock in a transaction that occurred on Thursday, July 6th.

His loss is the latest among a growing list of injured players for the Broncos, and leaves them thin, especially at nose tackle.

Once the younger Peko becomes healthy, Adams will likely become the team's fourth-string nose tackle.

Wolfe suffered a stinger early in training camp and was removed from drills for the remainder of that practice, but he returned to practice quickly in the days that followed.

Adams was signed by the Steelers as a college free agent on April 29th and given a $5,000 signing bonus. But the team is expected to make a move to fill Winn's role.
