Supreme Court will review President Trump's travel ban

Dershowitz argued for the second, more moderate ban put forth by the White House after courts struck down the original order and said it's incorrect to assert the president's lack of authority when it comes to barring entry.

The justices ruled the Trump ban as proposed is an unconstitutional burden on families, universities and companies with credible ties to individuals from the targeted countries - Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen.

Shortly after the court's ruling, the State Department notified all US diplomatic posts of the decision and advised them to await instructions that would be forthcoming by the self-imposed implementation deadline on Thursday, officials familiar with the situation said.

Trump's new March 6 order banned people from Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen from entering the USA for 90 days and barred all refugees for 120 days, but on May 25, the U.S. 4th Circuit Court of Appeals voted to sustain a March 16 decision by a Maryland federal district judge to stay its enforcement. The Executive Order also exempts foreigners who wish to enter the United States to resume work or study, visiting a spouse, child or parent who is an American citizen or because of important business or professional responsibilities.

A 120-day ban on refugees is also being allowed to take effect. Here, both the Fourth and Ninth Circuit courts upheld the district courts' rulings staying the ban.

It noted that Mr Trump's executive order already allowed for case- by-case waivers for people with connections to the country. "There's a huge refugee crisis in the world and we need to help people", said Julia Caruk, South Windsor. "The answer the Supreme Court gave yesterday is that some parts of the order are going to be constitutional and some parts are going to be unconstitutional".

"As President, I can not allow people into our country who want to do us harm", President Trump said in a statement, via CNN.

Span gets RBI single in 14th, lifts Giants over Rockies 4-3
He had not recorded a win against the Rockies since May 26, 2013 and was 0-4 with a 4.47 ERA in his last nine starts against them. The Giants cut the lead to 3-2 in the sixth on a Buster Posey walk, Brandon Belt single and a sacrifice fly by Brandon Crawford.

The Supreme Court's opinion paves the way for ban to go into effect in as little as 72 hours. "So, it's very hard to predict any time a court has so much latitude to decide results that are often going to hinge on the inclinations of a particular judge".

The court said the relationship must be "formal, documented and formed in the ordinary course, not for the goal of evading" the travel ban.

On again, off again, off again, off again and now, partly back on: That's the peculiar route of President Donald Trump's travel ban after a Supreme Court decision Monday allowing a limited version to take effect.

Lavinia Limon, CEO of the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants, said she was dismayed by the ruling, but insisted that her agency has "an existing relationship with incoming refugees, certified and arranged through the Department of State". He could be the deciding vote on the legality of Trump's travel ban.

The Court consolidated the travel ban cases from the 4th and 9th U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeals and scheduled oral arguments for the first session of the Court's next term, which begins in October.

With the uncertainty surrounding the Supreme Court's order, immigration advocates and civil rights lawyers are on edge and ready for possible legal challenges.

The legality of Trump's desired travel ban remains to be seen.
